Christmas Donations To Hospital
“The staff is most grateful to those who made donations at Christmas lime,” stated the matron, in her report to the Whangarei Hospital Board yesterday. Acknowledgments of donations are made as follows: Garments for children, Mrs E. J. Maunder, Mt. Albert; lemonade, Gi’ey & Menzies; Christmas gifts for children’s ward, Maunu Comforts Club; sweets, Armstrong Avenue Sunday School: toys, Mrs S. Bignell; case of oranges, John Burns & C 0..; flowers. Mrs Given; large stocking of toys, Mrs Hegley; flowers and greenery, ’Tvlrs Arthur Pickmere; plums, Mrs Evans; gifts. Kamo Women’s Institute; flowers, Mr Timewell; flowers and oranges, Mrs Anderson: toys and books. Mrs D. Cook; toys, Miss E. M. Marshall; cakes and tobacco for Old People’s Home, Mrs Foster; 50 presents for women and children, Helena Bay Women’s Institute; box of Christmas gifts, Hukerenui Women’s Social Club; bag of peas. Mrs Crawford, Maungakaramea; books and magazines, Mr J. M. Clarke; large cake, Bales' Bakery: flowers. Miss Lang, Kamo; books, Mrs A. McDonald. In addition, flowers were sent by many anonymous donors.
