This Day. “This man persuaded an elderly woman to part with £l7, and was to have received another £33 from her to-morrow,” declared Detective-Ser-geant A. B. Meiklejohn, in the Police Court this morning, when Truman Wiltshire, a labourer-clerk, aged 33, appeared on a charge of false pretences. Wiltshire, who was also charged with forging a cheque for £ls at.Ohakune on December 23 in the name of W. S. Baird, was remanded until Monday next, pending further police inquiries,
