The Riga correspondent of “The Times” says that seven bishops of the Orthodox Church, including the Metropolian of Moscow, have been charged t.s enemies of the people, traitors, spies and wreckers.
The press describes them as agents cf a Trotskyist organisation, working for the German secret police. They are accused of praying for the repose of the soul of Marshal Tukha-si-evsky and other enemies of the people, and inducing priests to enter factories disguised as workers to propagate church doctrines.
The move is part of a new anti-God campaign.
