When The Office Boy Revolted— He Made a Good Competition for Northlanders
'pilE Office Boy has revolted,
“You won’t let me into the secret,” he announced to Kupe the other day.' “So I’ll! just go and heip the linotype operators instead of helping you,” His first job was to “set up” twelve proverbs; but somehow he didn’t last long as an “operator” after that. If M.Q. hadn’t rescued him, we’re sure he’d have been sacked rigfit away. You’ll quite agree when you read the proverbs below. Nearly all the let.ers have been missed out and dots put in their place. But if you’re clever—and of course you are !—then you’ll have little difficulty in guessing the proverbs. That, of course, makes an excellent competition. Write out the proverbs in full (and don’t YOU leave out. any letters!;. Use a slice, of pad paper, on which is written your full mine, address and age. Be sure to mane your entry as neat as possible, because we re offering half-crowns for the best entries received, ana wnere ties are inevitable, the prizes will go to the neatest. January 25 is the closing date. Hurry along your entries then. L’s an excellent chance to win 2/fi. (1) A.. n. t .... t... . 1...e.s (2) . 5..,c. .n .i.e s..e. n...
