Mr Cordell Hull. United States Secretary of State, announced that America intended to negotiate a trade treaty with the United Kingdom. A nine-year-old boy died from infantile paralysis on board the Maunganui on Friday during the voyage from Melbourne to Bluff. The Samoan Clipper left Honolulu for New Zealand this morning on the regular fortnightly mail service between the Dominion and the U.S. Imperial Airways flying-boat Centaurus took off from Auckland this morning on her return crossing of the Tasman Sea, Henry Wilson’s sensational liquidation sale has only a few more weeks to run. Therefore, in the interim, prices of all doubtful or soiled stocks, remnants, etc., summer showroom goods and silknit underwear, are decidedly in buyers’ favour. A visit just now will repay everyone.
