LABOUR SPLIT ON FAR EAST CRISIS

(Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 7. Serious conflict of opinion on British Labour’s attitude to the Far Eastern question, says the “Daily Telegraph,” was revealed at separate and joint meetings of the General Council of the Trades Union Congress, the executive of the Socialist Party and the executive of the Parliamentary Socialist Party.

The problem, after all-day consideration, was referred to the National Council, of Labour, which meets on Monday. This will certainly pass the question on again to the meeting of the Labour Socialist International and the International Federation of Trade Unions, in Paris on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sympathy was expressed with the Chinese protest recorded against the Japanese invasion. It was demanded that Britain prohibit citizens from selling arms to Japan.
