WEATHER IMPOSES STALEMATE AT TERUEL
(“Times” Cable.)
(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 7. The Salamanca correspondent of “The Times” says that, according to the insurgents, the weather continues to impose a virtual stalemate in the Teruel sector. They claim, however, to be continuing their advance. The Government is reported to have hurried up reinforcements in order to conserve at least some of their gains. The fight to capture the last remnants of the insurgent forces in Teruel continues. Airmen on both sides are engaging in an intensive series of attacks. A telegram from Madrid says the insurgents’ losses in the Teruel campaign are estimated at 3000 killed and 5000 or 6000 wounded.
