Trans-Pacific Air Mail Service
The trans-Pacific 'air service will now be used regularly for the despatch of air mails. The next flight is scheduled to Jnauary 18, and thereafter departures will be made every alternate Saturday. The charges for air carriage, including postage, will be the same as previously announced for the first flight, i.e: To Pago Pago, 6d; to Honolulu. 3/; United States, 4/6. (All per half-ounce.) The charge of 4/6 will also cover air transit across the United States and sea transit to Great Britin.
The time of closing of the mail to be despatched on January 15 is tentatively fixed for Thursday, January 13, at 2.15 p.m,, Whangarei Post Office.
