CENTAURUS LEAVES AT DAWN MONDAY
[Special to "Norther',--. Advocate.'-J AUCKLAND, This Day.
The Centaurus was a centre of interest to Aucklanders today as she rode snugly at her moorings at Mechanics’ Bay. A continual stream of sight-scers by foot and by car arrived to take a look at the giant flying-ship before she leaves on the first leg of her homeward trip' at 5 o'clock on Monday morning.
There was an air of bustle about the craft as mechanics, engaged in putting the final touches to the engines, plied ’back and forth to the shore by motor boat.
Preparations for the flight are practically completed, and arrangements have been made for meteorological data to be supplied to Captain J. W. Burgess by Dr. W. A. Macky, Government meteorologist at Auckland, commencing today. Unless extremely strong head winds are forecasted, it is likely that the flight will take place according to schedule.
