Important Address To Farmers
While in the Dominion investigating mastitis, or mammitis, Dr. G. J. Hucker, chief in research of the Agricultural Experimental. Station, New York State, has addressed a number of farmers' meetings on the subject ■of the disease. Mr A. J. Murdoch, the chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Control Board, which together with the Government, has sponsored his mission, induced Dr. Hucker to visit Northland. At Helensyille on Friday he spoke to about 1007 including a number of high school boys, and on Saturday dealt with the subject in a most interesting way when speaking at the Whangarei Town Hall, Mr. Murdoch presided on both occasions. Dr. Hucker is accompanied on his Northern visit by Dr. C. S. Hopkirk, officer in charge of the Veterinary Department, Wallaceville Laboratory, Wellington,, who is assisting him in his research.
