Improvement On Stock Exchange
rSpccinl To "Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day.
There was some improvement on the Stock Exchange this morning, but prices still rule at comparatively low levels. At the first call, buyers were apathetic for the most part until they came to the more popular Australian issues, and for these there was keen bidding at the lower values now ruling.
Broken Hill Proprietary and Ml, Lyclls both registered advances. G. J. Coles improved Gel, with business at £4 0/G, but Woo.lworths (Sydney) slipped further back with a transaction at £ 1 3/.
Goldsbrougbs were down, with a market between £ I 10/ and £ I H '- Government stocks were dull, and there were no inquiries for local body debentures.
