Scientific, virile malchcraft distinguished the contests for the New Zealand amateur wrestling championship. held at the Wellington Town Hall, yesterday. Wellington representatives won live of the' seven weights. The eliminating round occupied all the morning and afternoon. The finals were held as preliminaries to the professional match. The contests were refereed by Mr J. Creek. P roll rn inn ri o s resulted:— Bantam: Todd (Canterbury) beat Reid (Otago), straight falls. Feather: Jones (Auckland) beat Frampton (Southland), straight falls; Bradley /Wellington) beat Thompson ("Otego), one fall. Lightweight: Mclnnos ("Canterbury) and Double (Auckland), both by default: Thomas (Wellington) beat McCormick >Hawke's Day), straight falls. Welterweight: Wilson (Canterbury) beat Nichol (Auckland), straight falls; Skuddor (Hawke's Bay) beat Conley (South Canterbury), straight falls; Waldron (Wellington) beat Idour (Otago), on points. Middleweight: Godfrey (Wellington) beat Davis (Southland), straight falls; Goughian (Otago) beat Harris (Canter- j bury), on points. Final results were:— Bantam: L. Nolan (Wellington), 8.7.’,. beat S. Todd (Canterbury), 8.9. by two falls. Feather: J. F. Genet (Canterbury), 9.5, beat W. Balderstonc (West Coast), 8.13, by two falls. Light: V. Thomas (Wellington), 9.12, beat J. A. Mclnnos (Canterbury), 9.12),, on points. Welter: J. Podgursky (West Coast, North Island), 10.10),, beat H. Wilson (Canterbury), 10.11, on points. Middle: H. R.
