WHANGAREI CHILDREN FOR HEALTH CAMP
Forty-nine ot the children in the local area will leave on Tuesday, March 30, to attend the Health Camp to be held at Motuihi Island. They ’ will assemble at the Whangarei Town Hall at 9.30 on that date for the purpose of being further medically examined, after which they will pro- / ceed to the railway station in care of their respective escorts, who will take charge of them at the Town Hall and I will travel with them to Auckland on the Opua-Whangarei-Auckland express. Children attending the camp from other centres will also be aboard the train, and the first escort will join ! the party at Okaihau. Originally, the names of 84 children submitted by the Whangarei area committee were approved by the Auckland Central Council, but only 49 signified that they would attend the camp. ' Every child will be required to bring the following articles:—Soap and face cloth, brush and comb, school books, change of underclothing, handkerchiefs, bathing suits, overcoat and 1 enamel mug. Tooth brushes, uniforms and pyjamas will also be supplied. A doctor or nurse will be in. attendance throughout the whole, period g of the camp. Every’ care will be taken of the children in camp, but the authorities have made it clear that . they cannot hold themselves responsible for illness or accident beyond i the provision of the accident insur- ( ance policy taken out to cover all the ■ children in camp. , : All transport and accommodation charges will be borne by the Health ; Stamp Fund.
