ENTHUSIASTIC FAREWELL TO M R SAVAGE

C Special to “Northern Advocate WELLINGTON, This Day.

Enthusiastic crowds last evening! farewelled the Prime Minister. the! Rt. Hon. ,M. J. Savage, who sail's on j Saturday for England to represent I New Zealand at the Coronation and j at the Imperial Conference. The Town Hall was packed and Mr. Savage’s speech was punctuated with frequent bursts of applause. At its conclusion the audience sang “For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow,” and cheered the Prime Minister to the echo. Good wishes were expressed by Mr. T. C. A. His lop, and in farewelling Mr. Savage .on behalf of members of the Wellington City Council, Mr. M F. Luckie praised the Government for the manner in which it had handled the unemployment problem. Mr. Savage spoke on the lines ol recent addresses in other centres.
