Maungatapere Club

At the annual meeting c pf the Maungatapere Golf Club, the president, Mr E, C. Walker, presided over an excellent attendance. Apologies were tendered for several members, who were unavoidably absent. The president’s report forecasted important improvements to the course on Mr Foote’s property at Maunu. Last season there, were 33 members (all financial), and the balance sheet, which was adonted, showed a credit of £B/10/-. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows;—Patron, Mr C. E. Foote; president, Mr E. C. Walker; ; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. O. Armstrong and H. C. Newton; club captain, Mr O. V. Adlam; vice-captain, Mr W. Bradley; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. Going; committee jVliss.M. Morrison, Miss Hawken, and Messrs. G. Feaver, B. Mason, A. Heape, J. A. McLeod, M. Newton and W. Bradley. , The club captain urged an increase in membership fees, to provide finance to improve putting greens, etc. After some discussion, it was decided that fees be:—Ladies, one guinea; gents, one and a-half guineas; junior boys and girls, to 16 years of age: Girls 10/-, and boys 15/- for the season. A working bee was arranged to make ready for the official opening on April 10th. A vote' of thanks to the outgoing officers was carried with acclamation.
