SWIMMING CLUB’S SEASON CLOSES
The Whangarei Swimming Club officially closed its 1936-37 season last evening with the final of its series of weekly club nights. The competition points prize for the ■season were won as follows: — Men, D. Haigh; ladies. Miss B. Orr; intermediate boys, D. Fairley; intermediate girls, P. Hamlin; junior boys, T. Coote; junior girls, L. O’Donoghue. Last night's results are:— Junior girls scratch race. 100 yards.— M. Ward 1, B. Blanshard 2. F, Johnson 3. Time, 93 l-ssecs. Intermediate girls, 66 2-3 yards.—P. Hamlin (scr) 1, M. Spring (Bsecs)2. ■rime, 49 2-ssecs. Intermediate boys, 220 yards.—D. Fairley (scr) 1. M. Alach (12secs) 2, J. Howie (Gsecs) 3. Time, 2.55 1-5. Men’s 220 yards.—l. Conway (Iss) 1, H. Fidler (ssecs) 2, D. Haigh (scr) 3. Time, 3.10.
