Gallichan, the Manawatu and I Wellington rep. left-hand slow Bowler, ! has been added to the New Zealand ' team, which will leave for its tour pi England from Wellington next Saturday. The addition of this player to 14 men already chosen was made by the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council yesterday with the concurrence of the New Zealand selectors, on the recommendation of the manager, Captain and vice-captain of the New Zealand team. The announcement was made yesterday by Mr A. T. Donnelly, chairman of the management committee of the •council, who said that, in the afternoon, a telegram had been received from M. L. Page, captain of the New Zealand team, H. G. Vivian, vice-cap-tain, and Mr T. C. Lowry, manager, all of whom had had great experience of English cricket test conditions. The telegram read as follows: — “We are unanimously of the opinion that the team, as at present constituted, is shorT of slowbowling for such a long tour and we suggest the inclusion of Ga Indian as an additional man if pos-sible.—-Page, Vivian, Lowry. With the concurrence of the New Zealand selectors, said Mr Donnelly, the management committee had agreed to the request, and Gallichan had been asked to join the team for England.
