Waipu Stock Values; Pigs At Kamo

There was spirited competition at Dalgety and Company’s Waipu stock sale yesterday for good quality cow beef which sold well. A good yarding of all classes of cattle and a good clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. Plain cows and boner cattle sold fully on a par with late rates.

Medium-weight fat S.H. cows, £5 5/ to £6; light, £4 7/6 to £5; fat Jersey cows, heavy, £4 2/6 to £4 15/; lighter, £3 5/ to £4; heavy boner cows, £2 12/ to £2 18/; lighter, £1 10/ to £1 16/; mixed coloured 2-year steers, £4 to £4 2/; yearling, £3 to £3 5/; good quality Jersey heifer calves, £2 7/6; heavy potter bulls, £6 to £6 10/; lighter, £4 15/ to £5 7/6; light, £2 to £3 7/6. Dairy catle: Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £4 to £4 5/; sound S.H. cows, £3 17/6 to £4 2/6; sound young Friesian cows, close up, to £5 15/. Store ewes, 16/6; wethers, 24/.
