Kilonsoa Gains New Friends For Easter f Special to "Northern Advocate AUCKLAND, This Day. The weather was fine though muggy for the semi-final gallops for the Auckland Racing Club’s autumn meeting at Ellerslie this morning, and some good trials were recorded. The course proper, on which the poles were 40ft out, the No. 3 grass, and the tan tracks were also available, the bulk of the work being carried out on the firstnamed track. The best efforts of . the morning were those of Kilonsoa. Shy, Crooning and King Neptune. Kilonsoa (Wiggins) was sent seven furlongs. She ran the first two in 24 2- four in 49 2-ssec, and completed the full distance in 1.28 4-5. It was an excellent work-out, and gained her additional friends for the Easter Handicap. Seven Seas (Gilchrist) got To the end of five furlongs in 1.4 1-5. He was running oh solidly at the end. Shy (Wiggins) had Tybalt (Gilchrist) as a companion over a mile, run in 1.42 4-5. Shy was doing his work wfell at the finish and his effort was impressive. Tybalt also went better than usual. Tooley Street, after taking, 38 l-ssec for his first three furlongs, traversed seven in 1.30 3-5. This horse is improved. Aero Queen (Clifford) and Speedfast (Moody) went away from a standing start at the six furlongs post and came home in 1,22 2-5, the former being in front. Kelly Shapes Well. Kelly (Gilchrist), Gay Broney (Cole), Royal Appellant (Cameron), and High Tea (Horne) were associated over a mile which occupied 1.43 3-5. Kelly, who had a light weight and was on the outside, finished in front,. the other three being bunched less 1 than a length away. Kelly shaped well, and the others were going well within themselves at the finish. The two-year-old, Elanage (Wiggins), was going better than Sir Abb, while reeling off half a mile in 49 3- Elanage is in first-class order for the Great , Northern Champagne Stakes next Saturday. Prince Colossus (Clifford) was sent a mile alone. He ran the first half-mile in 51 4-ssec, and the full distance in 1.46 1-5.

Surella (Wiggins) and the Vaals — Ti Tree novice in R. S. Bagby’s stable, jumped off at the half-mile post, and, after running the first furlong in 12 3-ssec, finished their task in 51 1-5. Both hit out freely. White Foam (Gilchrist) went away slowly from the five furlong post and was timed to run her last half-mile in 53 1-5. She worked comfortably throughout. King Neptune Impresses. King Neptune (Green) and Jack Tar (Wiggins) finished several lenghs clear of Thangilamba over six furlongs in 1.17. They ran the first three in 37 2-ss, and King Neptune impressed most, though Jack Tar also did his work well. Crooning, who was ridden by a light boy, went away from a standing start at the seven furlong post and came home in 1.31 4-5. She ran her last six furlongs in 1.16 4-5, and this also was a good trial. Hoinoa, who was to pick her up half-way through the gallop, failed to do so and followed on behind over the last three furlongs. The latter is by Tea Tray from Cradle Song. Siega (L. Dulieu) went away slowly from the five furlong post and was joined by Land Girl (Murray) at the half-mile, coming home from there in 52 4-5. Land Girl was clear of her companion at the finish. Digitalis was just in front of Billy Boy with Erase several lengths back, at the conclusion of a mile in 1.52. Billy Boy worked with plenty of dash. On The Tan. Knight of Australia (Coon) and Valspear (Craddock) were companions over a round run in 1.23 1-5. They covered the last six furlongs in 1.21 2-5, and Knight of Australia was just shading his companion at the finish. It was a good effort on the part of both horses. Valmint (Murray) did strong work over a round, taking 1.31-for Tiis last six furlongs. Leo Colossus was allotted a similar task, his last six furlongs being covered in 1.27 3-5. Armacourt (Murray) was timed to run the last half-mile of a round in 53 2-ssec. • No. 3 Grass. Locknit reeled off three furlongs in 38 2-ssec. It was his first sprint for some time and he shaped will. The Jumpers. Jaeldy Karo (O’Connor) was sent over a couple of pony hurdles twice. He did not have a great deal of pace on, but his display was satisfactory. Huntsman’s Chorus (O’Connor) was sent over the same fences giving a pleasing exhibition. The following horses arrived from | the south this morning.—Laughing Lass, Smokescreen, Missal, Mandamus, Francis Drake, Haut Monde, Wild Flower, Forest Glow, and Tail Light. Re-handicaps. Ringshot, who was successful at Tauranga on Saturday, has been rehandicapped 61bs, making 7.13, for the Eden Handicap, to be run at Ellerslie next Saturday.
