Auckland Man Fined; Loses License For Six Months On .a charge of negligently driving a motor, car at Walpu on December 28, 1936, which the .police described as a most flagrant breach in which defendant showed less regard for public safety than a drunken motorist, Christian de Rink; a motor engineer, of Auckland, appeared before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., in the Maungaturoto Police Court this morning. The evidence showed that de Rink zig-zagged through moving vehicles at an intersection at terrific speed, his efficient brakes Causing the car to scour the road metal for 97 feet, 1 In fining him £5 and costs and cancelling his license for six’ months, Mr. Morris told de Rink he was a menace on the road. Mr. T. C. Aickin, of Paparoa, pleaded guilty on accused’s, behalf.
