The following appointments of teachers in Northland district were authorised at yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Education Board. —Soie teachers: Mr S. M. Cadwallader, Pokapu; and assistant mistress, Miss G. M, Parker (Titoki).
A telegram was received by the Sisters of the Convent this morning that Tim Buckley, son of Dr. Buckley, has obtained first place in the St. Patrick’s College Scholarship, a competition which is open to all Roman Catholic students in the Dominion. The scholarship, which has a tenure of four years, is worth £66 per annum. It is only a week since this student was advised that he, had obtained first place in the Sacred Heart College Scholarship, which also is of Dominion character. This is an instance of history repeating itself, as Dr, Buckley himself carried off the same double in his day. Congratulations to the student, parents and school.
