SHARP FROST DISLOCATES LONDON TRAFFIC

The early morning traffic in all parts of Greater London was seriously dislocated today as the result of a sharp frost following rain.
The electric train conductor rails were frozen, preventing the, operation of the services on several routes. Road traffic ;was brought to a standstill in many places, especially at both ends of steep hills, and there were many minor accidents.
Pedestrians found the footpaths almost unusable, and hundreds of cases of injury from falls were treated in hospitals.
