KOKOPU

Another of those happy social gatherings for which this district is noted took place on Saturday evening, when a large number of guests assembled at the residence of Mr and Mrs L. Kirk, to tender a “blue linen ’ evening to Miss Lavinia Kokich, whose wedding is to take place in the near future. A particularly jolly evening was enjoyed by all present, and the genial host and hostess spared no pains to give everyone a good time. The brideelect was the recipient of a large and varied assortment of beautiful and useful linen articles, together with the warmest good wishes of the donors.

After a few happy hours spent in games, dancing, cards, etc., and full justice having been done to a dainty supper, hearty thanks and musical honours were tendered to Mr and Mrs Kirk for their kindly hospitality, and also good wishes for lifelong happines and prosperity to Miss Kokich, on whose behalf Mr George Dudley made a suitable reply. Amongst those present were Mesdames L. Kirk, P. Kokich, J. G. Draper, C. McKinley, A. Walker, J. Palmer, P. Clotworthy, W. Attwood, P. Luke, N. Kokich, G. Campbell, Germane; and Misses Joyce, Mary, Lilian and Jean McKinley, Mary and Ruth Timperley, Lavinia and Alma Kokich. Rose, Ettie and Flora Attwood, Josephine Germane, Aileen Snelgar, and Olga Kokich.
