The weather was fine but overcast for the Ashburton Racing Club’s summer meeting held on Saturday. The attendance good, and the track was slightly heavy. The totalisator dealt with £11,730, against £6,685 107last year.— Melrose Trot, of 100 sovs; one mile and a half,—(lo-10) Lazybones, scr, 1; (2-2) Toorak, 12yds, 2; (5-4) Intrigue, scr, 3. Lazybones was coupled with Linklight. A neck; two lengths. Time —3.28 3-5. ’

Tinwald Handicap, of 130 sovs; one mile.—(l-1) Concertpitch, 9.0, 1; (5-4) Manetho, 7.10, 2; (4-5) Gaysome, 7.10, 3. All started. Half a length; a length and a half. Time—l.4l 2-5.

Winchmore Hack, of 100 sovs; six: furlongs.—(2-1) Rose of Tralee, 9.0, 1; (1-2) Cyrillian, 8.5, 2; (10-9) Day Dress, 7.13, 3. All started. A neck; two lengths. Time—l.l3 4-5. Moreton Hack, of 130 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(2-1) Convivial, 7.13, 1 ; (1-2) Rebel Lad, 8.13, 2; (5-4) Grampian, 7.7, 3. All started. Convivial was coupled with Universe. Half a length; a head. Time —2.10. Wakanui Handicap, of 120 sovs; six furlongs.—(3) *Bon Tray, 7.9, 1; (1) Emissary, 9.5, 2; (2) Bunfight, 8.5, 3. All started. Three-quarters of a length; half a length. Time—l.l3.

Mayfield Trot, of 120 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(l3-13) Panquitch, scr, I; (11-12) Credit Funds, 60yds, 2; (2-2) Red Ranger, scr, 3. Santa Fe was scratched. A length; a neck. Time—--2.49.
