ELDERLY MAN BURNED
[Per Press Association. Copyright J WELLINGTON, This Day. An elderly retired man, Mr A. Stohr, suffered .serious burns to the face, body and hands as a result of flaming methylated spirits setting fire to his clothes.
Mr Stohr was burning rubbish and, to make the fire burn, he poured on a quantity of spirits from a bottle. The flames immediately shot back at Mr Stohr, and he was burned and suffered shock before his clothes could be torn from him.
He was taken to hospital, where his condition is reported to be fair.
