CHURCH BURNED

The Roman Catholic Church at Ashburton was destroyed by fire last night. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. When the fire was detected at 8 o’clock it was confined to the back of the building. By 9 o’clock, however, the whole structure had been consumed by flames. The building was erected about 35 years ago and had just been renovated.
