The visitors showed a marked superiority and at the interval led s—nil. Scorers in the first spell were Price, Cameron, Donaldson and Smith. The visitors continued to hold the upper hand in the second stanza, Cameron, Smith (3) and Price netting for the visitors. Astonishing control and combination had New Zealand beaten in front and splendid covering by backs left no gaps. It was a triumph of skill over ineptitude. Eight Aucklanders have been chosen in the New Zealand team to meet the Australians in the third test match at Blandford Park next Saturday. Wood, Jepson (Auckland), Bridgens (Poverty Bay), Ives (Canterbury), Kay (Auckland).
