MORE SHOOTING IN JERUSALEM
(Received 2.30 p.m.) JERUSALEM. July 10
Bandits sent a fusillade of shots at another Jewish bus near Nablus. The driver lost control, and the vehicle overturned, one passenger being fatally injured and five wounded. British troops opened fire on the Arabs, killing four and capturing one. Bandits again attacked the same convey near Tulkeram. but the escort repulsed them. Another convoy was attacked at Jenin. Two British soldiers were wounded before the assailants were repulsed. Arabs are roaming the countryside and demanding money from towns, with the threat of death to the authorities.
This may range a mass of the population against the lawless elements, who are Syrian Arabs, armed with French rifles, for which they lack ammunition. They desire to buy weapons, for which local ammunition is available.
