FORWARD COWS IN DEMAND
DALGETTS FAIR AT PAPAROA An average yarding, comprising mostly dairy cattle, came forward at the Paparoa stock sale conducted by Dalgety and Co., Ltd. There was a good demand for all forward and early calving sorts, which sold up to full late rates. Springing Jersey heifers, moderate quality, £4 5/- to £4 17/6; backward, £3 to £4; small and late calvers, £2 .10/- to £2 15/-; fair quality Jersey cows, £4 to £4 15/-; backward £2 10/- to £3. Fat. Jersey cows, £3 17/- to £4; Shorthorn cows, £4 to £4 12/6; cows and calves, to £4 16/-; good boner cows, 35/- to £2; potter bulls, £2 4/- to £2 10/-; medium yearling Jersey heifers, to £2 2/-; smaller, 27/-.
