INDUSTRIES EFFICIENCY
BILL IN PREPARATION [ per Press Association. —Cooyright 1 CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An Industries Efficiency Bill, which will provide for the rationalisation and co-ordination of .industries, is in course of preparation by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. The Minister said today that the exact terms of the bill had not yet been settled, but he hoped to have it ready in time to be passed in the coming session. He was having the subject examined in order to get, if possible, a measure that would carry the confidence of the' interested parties, and still be effective in achieving its purpose.
The Bill would provide for the representation of the • Minister, through the Department of Industries and Commerce, on some form of controlling authority. He was endeavouring to get down to details as a result of consultation with officials of the department, and with other experienced persons, but there was still a good deal of work to be done before the bill would be ready.
