MATAKANA SHOW

[’Special to "Northern Advoca.te.~l MATAKANA, This Day.

The Matakana annual show was held yesterday in glorious weather. The cattle section was represented chiefly by Jerseys and Shorthorns, there being a disappointing entry of Friesians. Increased support has been accorded the pig classes. In the horse section there was a particularly pleasing entry of heavy horses. The ravages of the recent storm caused a considerable reduction to the numbers of indoor exhibits, the vegetable and fruit sections being mostly affected. Championship awards were made as follows:—Jerseys: Champion bull, Ray Campbell; cow, L. W. Meiklejohn. Shorthorns: Champion bull and cow, P. A. Clayden.
