REMEDY FOR FARM LABOUR SHORTAGE
The Whangarei branch of the Farmers’ Union meeting yesterday recorded a definite shortage of farm labour in the Whangarei district, attributing this to the offering of more attractive forms of employment for single men. In a remit the branch expressed its opinion that where the size or production of individual properties permit, the provision of separate living accommodation for married men would tend to ease the problem of securing suitable farm labour.
