WESTFIELD VALUES FIRMER
At Westfield today, there was an average yarding. Prices were firm. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports that beef was yarded in larger numbers. There was a ready demand, with values firm at late quotations. Extra choice ox sold at 32/ per 100 lb; choice and prime, 28/ to 31/; secondary and plain, 24/ to 27/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 27/ to 31/; secondary, 20/ to 26/. No extra heavy prime steers were penned. Heavy, £l2 to £l2 15,'; lighter, £lO 15/ to £ll 17/6; light, £9 to £lO 12/6; small and unfinished, £6 10/ to £8 15/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £7 to £7 17/6; heavy, £6 to £6 15/; lighter, £4 15/ to £5 17/6; light, £3 10/ to £4 10/; others., £1 10/ to £3 5/.
