GERMANY’S REVIVAL
MILITARY PREPARATIONS STRATEGIC ROADS BUILT. TRANSPORT FACILITIES INCREASED. (Received Feb. 3, 4.45 p.m.) PARIS, February 2. General Serrigny, formerly DeputyChief of the French General Staff, devotes an article in Revue des deux Mondes to Germany’s development of strategic roads and motor transport. The writer emphasises the increase j in the number of Germany’s 50-ton lor- j ides, for which special roads are be-j ing constructed. He says it is expected ■' that 1200 miles of these roads will be completed by the end of this year, leading to the Franco-Belgian and Ger-man-Polish frontiers. | The roads will make it possible to I deliver 72,000 soldiers an hour at al given point and to transport mech-l anised armies at a speed hitherto un- j known. ■ |
