MAUNGATUROTO

On Anniversary Night, a well organised Leap Year dance was held at the Marohemo Hall. There was a large crowd of holidaymakers and people from all over the district; who danced enthusiastically to the excellent music of a local orchestra. Three young ladies of the committee officiated as M.C.’s. An excellent suppler served by the ladies was enjoyed by all. During the evening, a Monte Carlo was won by Miss Anne Tilby and Mr T. Mr and Mrs W. Worthington, of Birkenhead. are the guests of Mr and Mrs Wiltshire.

Captain and Mrs Stan Judson have returned to Auckland after a motor trip through the North. During their stay in Maungaturoto they were the guests of Mr and Mrs Harold Flower, of Flowerdale.

Miss Audrey Snelling has returned from Auckland.

Mrs J. Michaels and infant daughter, Robin, are spending a holiday in Maungaturoto.

Miss Amy Osborne- left this week for an extended stay at Rotorua. Mr and Mrs W. Rogers returned on Wednesday from their holiday. Miss Connie Petrie, of Te Kopuru Hospital nursing staff, has been spending a few days at home with her parents, Mr and Mrs Petrie, Marohemo.

Mr and Mrs H. Cox-Smith and family have returned from a month’s holiday at Mangawai Heads.

Mrs Young and her infant daughter returned to Auckland by car on Friday after spending a holiday with Mrs J. Cockerton.

Mrs J. E. Williams returned on Thursday after an extended holiday in Auckland.

Mrs Edwin Cullen and her son, Neil, are visiting Whangarei. Mr and Mrs lons have returned from a holiday at Milford.
