PIGS AT KAMO

VALUES APPRECIATE Prices showed a considerable increase on late rates at the Kamo pig sale, conducted by the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op. Ltd. yesterday. A varied entry, changed hands under the hammer before a large attendance. Values were: —Heavy baconers, £2 12/; light baconers, £2 3/ to £26/; heavy porkers, £1 17/ to £2 1/; light porkers, £1 6/ to £1 17/; medium sorts, to £1 9/; slips, 18/ to 25/; large weaners, to 18/; smaller sorts, 12/6 to 15/6.
An average yarding of pigs came forward at the Kamo sale held by Dalgety and Co. Ltd. Particularly ■keen competition prevailed. Heavy baconers made £2 10/ to £2 15/; light baconers, £2 5/ to £2 7/6; light porkers, £1 10/ to £1 15/; stores, good quality, 20/ to 23/; medium quality, 15/ to 18/; weaners, 8/6 to 11/. At the Kirikopuni sheep fair, conducted by Dalgety and Co. Ltd. yesterday, an average yarding of all sorts came forward. A good clearance resulted in everything being sold under very strong competition, at values up to recent rates. Breeding ewes were in particularly keen demand. Good woolly ewe lambs brought 18/1; woolly wether lambs, 15/6 to 16/3; smaller mixed sex lambs, 11/ to 12/6; aged sound mouth ewes, 16/ to 18/; failing mouth ewes, 12/6 to 15/6.
