THE PRINCES' MOVEMENTS

VISIT TO PRIME MINISTER. COUNSELLORS OF STATE. SUBJECT NOT CONSIDERED. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 19. . The Prince of Wales, who left Sandringham. accompanied by the Duke of York, by car for London, after acquainting the Duke of Gloucester with the progress of the King, left Buckingham Palace for No. 10 Downing Street, and saw Mr Baldwin. The Duke of York will spend the night at the Royal Lodge, Windsor, where, the Duchess is progressing excellently after her attack of influenza. Other inmates are the Princesses Helena, Victoria, Elizabeth and Margaret Rose. The Duke of York will return to Sandringham cn Monday. The Duke of Gloucester, who is suL fering from throat trouble, is, much better, but was unable to leave Buckingham Palace today for Sandringham, whither the Duke of Kent and the Archbishop of Canterbury have gone. No undue importance attaches to the visit of the Archbishop, who is an old and dear personal friend of the King. The question of setting up Counsellors of State, as was done during the King’s former illness, will not be considered till there is a better idea of the probable duration of the King’s illness.

For the first time in many years, Royalty did not attend the morning service at St. Gary’s, but remained at Sandringham, where crowds awaited news, but there was no sign of anytnlng from the house. A throng was also waiting at Buckingham Palace, where hundreds remained all day. A constant stream entered Westminster Abbey and offered prayers.
