ABNORMAL WEATHER
ITALIAN TROUBLE WHY AIR MAILS ARE LATE. LONDON, January 8. Referring to complaints from Australia regarding the constant delay in the arrival of the English air mail, Imperial Airways state that it is due to abnormally bad winter weather in the Northern Hemisphere, which has equally delayed the French service to Indo-China and the Dutch service to Java. Some delay has also been occasioned by abnormal conditions in Italy during the carriage by rail of the mails from Paris to Brindisi.
There is now no political obstacle to flying the mails all the way, but pending the construction of a new fleet it is not intended to abandon the present practice of sending mails from Paris to Brindisi by train.
