LESS IN WHANGAREI
HIGH WIND LAST NIGHT In Whangarei the fall was not heavy, the register showing only .84in. for the 24 hours. In the main 4 the rain came in passing squalls, one, in particular, contributing a big quota. A gusty wind played havoc with gardens in the dark, but this moaning it had died away. Owing to the overcast conditions it was not possible to witness the eclipse of the moon in Whangarei. At noon today a heavy shower caught business-people going home for lunch, but the leaclen sky soon, disappeared and the sun came out' again.
