ANOTHER TORRENT FROM SKY ABNORMAL FALL FOE YEAR. [Special to ”,Northern Advocate ."l KAITAIA, This Day. Kaitaia experienced another torrential downpour on Wednesday, and during the 24 hours from 9 a.m. today 2.17 inches of rain were recorded. The heaviest fall occurred between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Wednes-* day, when the water rose in the gutters in Commerce Street till it was level with the footpath. However, it dispersed as quickly as it had risen. The rainfall for Kaitaia, for the past twelve months, is as follows; — January, I.BinJ February, B.ssins; March, 5.99in5; April, 6.26in5; May, s.7Sins; June, 4.6 ins; July, 7.35in5; August, 5.32in5; September, 11.57in5; October, 4.66in5; November, 4.29in5; December, 4.3 ins. The total for 1935 was 70.47 inches. , Mr F. B. Rowe, of Kaitaia, took an average of the annual rainfall- over the past 18 years, and found it to be only 54.25 inches —a marked contrast to the 1935 record.
