GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS BAIGENT HONOURED. ONERAHI TOPICS. To celebrate the golden wedding of Mr and Mrs S. Baigent, a very pleasant function was held last week at the residence of Mj.' and Mrs L. V. Scott, Onerahi. ' A big crowd was present, and a dainty repast spread by way of feast. The guests of the evening were toasted, amid cheers, with all good wishes for continued health and happiness in the years to come. Mr and Mrs Baigent, who’ were married) in Doved'ale Methodist Church, Nelson, on December 30th, 1895, were presented with a handsome clock, as a mark of the esteem in which they are held by all. Suitable reply was made, and afterwards time passed pleasantly with cards, song and recitation. It was late when a delightful evening closed with “Auld Lang Syne,” and the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows.” Personal. Among recent holidaymakers in the township were Mr and Mrs H. G. Sampso’n, of Ngaruawahia, who were the guests of the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs Baigent. What with fishing, bathing and boating, a very jolly time was spent. They also attended the golden wedding celebration. Mr and Mrs A. S. Fagan; and family returned home on Saturday from an extensive motoring holiday. Their itinerary included Auckland, Opunake, Te Puke, Paeroa and back again to Auckland and Onerahi. A very happy time was spent with friends at each place.
