FRANKTON STOCK
FIRST NEW YEAR SALES [Special to “Northern Advocate.”! * HAMILTON, This Day. The pig pens at Frankton yesterday were filled to capacity, the entry of over 2000 comprising a record for the yards. There has been no sale at Frankton for', three weeks, and vendors and buyers were active. Store and weaner pigs were in comparatively short supply and met with a remarkably keen sale. Older pigs showed a slight slackening. The clearance, however, was complete and satisfactory. There was a good yarding of sheep, and wethers were easier in value. Ewes sold well, last year’s values being maintained. Strong competition prevailed for lambs.
Good class Cattle were offered in the beef pens, and the demand was excellent. There was no reduction in realisations. The auctioneers quote:— N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.
