TOURING CRICKETERS
FOUR NORTH AUCKLANDERS
Four North Aucklanders are included in Mr E. C.. Beale’s team of New Zealand cricketers which leaves Auckland for a tour of Fiji on Tuesday night. They are; J. D. Bright (Whangarei), E. N. Vipond, E. J. Dunning and L. Wyatt (Rodney). ' Other members are: ;D. L. Martin, M. J. Hewitt, J, R. Norris, W. Renshaw (Auckland); K. L. Sandford (South Auckland); E. G. Sutherland (Bay, of Plenty); H. B. Massey (Wairarapa, captain); L. E. Riley (Wellington); C. V, Walter (Canterbury); H. N. Windle (Nelson). The wicketkeeper has yet to be chosen. The average age of the players is 22.
It will be remembered that Bright, playing for Norttf Auckland against Mr Beale’s team at Whangarei last Christmas, notched a century not out, following this up with gopd scores for Whangarei at Maungakaramea. The team will play its first match against a Suva second eleven at Suva next Saturday. Other matches are: December 18 and 19. —Bau. December 21 and 22. —Suva first eleven.
December 24, 25 and 26.—Fiji, at Bau. December 28 and 29. —Lautoka eleven, at Lautoka. December 31, January 1 and 2. Fiji representatives, at Lautoka. January 4 and 5. —Suva eleven. January 7 and 8. —Native eleven, at Suva.
January 10, 11, 12.—Fiji representatives, at Suva. January 14 and. 15.—Combined Schools, at Suva.
