Poroti
The monthly meeting of the Poroti Institute was held in the hall, Mrs Robison presiding over a good attendance. The competition for the month was for a sponge sandwich, which was won by Mrs Croucher, with Mrs Linnell and Mrs Adams second. During the afternoon two interesting demonstrations were-given, Mrs Russell demonstrating pine-needle work, and Mrs Murray the decorating of a plate with pieces of coloured paper. These were greatly appreciated by all members, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the visitors. < The hostesses were Mesdames Oldfie’ld. senior and junior.
