SAINTS’ DAYS TO STAY MR COATES’ ANNOUNCEMENT. [From Our Parliamentary Special .l WELLINGTON, This Day. According to an announcement made in the House of -Representatives last night by the Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, St. George’s Day, St. Andrew’s Day and St, Patrick’s Day are, for the time being, to be retained as bank holidays. Mr Coates made this announcement in “moving the second reading of the Banking Amendment Blunder the original provisions of the Bill it was proposed to delete these days from the list of bank holidays, but the Minister said he proposed to drop that particular clause in the committee stage.
