INADEQUATE DRAINAGE
An inadequate or defective drain across Commerce Street to Bank Street, Kaitaia, causes trouble "with every heavy downpour of rain. The drain, being unable to take the water along the side of the street, soon gets flsoded, and at times the water encroaches on the footpath. It is understood that the drain is to be enlarged when the street is given a permanent surface before next winter sets ih.
