Zane Grey continued on for another round at a stronger pace, but was not timed. Hunting Maid was going comfortably while running half a mile in 56sec, and Red Flame completed a similar task in 57 1-5. This filly is in nice order for forthcoming engagements. Express worked half a mile in 55 Express worked half a mile in 55 l-ssec and Hawthorn ran the last four furlongs in 57 4-ssec. Etcetera was going well within himself while covering six furlongs in 1,25 2-5. Gay Defence ran home from the sixfurlongs post in 1.22 2-5, doing it nicely He was afterwards trotted round ori the sand track. King Mestor and Vera Acre completed a round in ,1.53' 3-5, the last seven taking 1.43. Chief Emerald and Supreme Ruler, after running their first two furlongs in 26sec, got to the end of five in 1.7 1-5. Kiltowyn was allotted a round, which he covered in 1.40 1-5. He ran the last six furlongs in 1.19 1-5, and the final three in 39sec. It was a useful effort and he was running on solidly at the end. He is to leave for Riccarton next Wednesday. Primak sprinted half a mile in 53 3-ssec. Baroscope and Gascelle covered a round in 1.46 1-5. They ran the last six in 1.21 1-5,-and the final three in 42sec. They both worked well, but Baroscope impressed the more. The Jumpers. Petrarch cleared four hurdles in the centre safely. He did not have much pace on, and his display was not as good as usual. Gascelle gave a good exhibition over the same fences. This horse is to leave for Cambridge on Saturday morning, in company with Petrarch and Zane Grey. Baroscope will be taken through on Sunday.
