Notwithstanding tl>e heavy rain which set in prior to the hour of the meeting, there were approximately 20 people present. Mr J. Morrison acted as chairman. The candidate dealt with the important political questions of the day in a manner which left no doubt in the minds of the audience as to where he stood. i A number of questions were asked and answered. A vote of thanks was carried as an amendment to a proposed vote of thanks to the candidate but of no confidence in the Government. This was defeated by a large majority.
