Kaikohe has a Great Future
Situated in the centre of the middle North, Kaikohe is one of Northland’s towns in which the business men can look to the future with optimism. Its geographical position, with main roads radiating to all parts of the North endows it with the facilities for commercial expansion which are quite exceptional. Also, in view of the fertility of its surrounding country, the day cannot be far distant, when Kaikohe will command a ready recognition and a rapid expansion. Even now, indeed, that expansion is taking place, and recent decisions have resulted in up-to-date amenities far ahead of those obtained in many New Zealand towns even bigger than Kaikohe. Some few years ago, when a dairy factory was proposed for Kaikohe, there was an element of cautious hesitation,' but confidence prevailed, and today the company is a flourishing concern, manufacturing a high grade of butter, which recently won high honours in the butter competitions at the Auckland Winter Show. The railway is at Kaikohe’s back door, there to assist in the expansion which is taking place, and must grow as times improve. Kaikohe, indeed, has a fine future!
