PURUA ANNUAL MEETING. PROSPECTS FOR NEW-SEASON. At the annual meeting of the Purua Tennis Club, the balance-sheet disclosed a profit of £3 for the past season. Inter-club matches had been most pleasant and the prospects for the new year were bright. The following officers were elected dent, Mr R. D. Finlayson; captain, Mr A. Frood; vice-captain, Mr A. McKay; secretary, Mr Reed. A Strdng Nothin ittee was also elected. MATARAU CLUB. The opening Of the Matarau Club was held last week, there being a good attendance of members and visitors from Waikaraka, Purua and Onerahi. Mr A. Comrie, the president, welcomed the visitors, and Mrs F. Attwood served the first ball. Mr V. Grantham presented a silver cup for competition among club members. The winners of the opening day tournament were Mrs W. J. Thorburn and Mr E. McKegg. RISliWORtil SHIELD. The Risk worth Shield was won by x Hora Hora last year and Maungatapere won the draw to be the first holder of the shield this year. Onerahi won the draw for the new C grade competition.
